March 25th, 2012 was the 5th anniversary of the commencement of the SeaRoad Group.  To mark this occasion, a small celebration was held in the Devonport head office symbolised by the cutting of a birthday cake by our Chairman, Chas Kelly.

Chas said “It is amazing how quickly the 5 years has passed.  During this time SeaRoad has achieved a lot and the business is not only in much better shape than when we took it over in 2007, but the future looks great with some significant projects currently on the go.  I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all our staff, customers and suppliers who have contributed to our progress and supported us on this journey.

The development of SeaRoad is far from finished and I look forward to working with all our stakeholders as we move into the next exciting phase”.

In October 2011 Logistics submitted an application to Australian Customs and Border Protection for a section 77G Bond Depot Licence. On January 25 2012 the application was approved and the License was issued. The area which has been licensed is a section of the RFL building, the facility is 120 square metres with good lighting, fully secured and monitored 24 hours a day. In obtaining the licence it will compliment the current AQIS accreditation Devonport holds, by offering international shipping lines additional services, and allowing importers to have goods under bond moved away from the wharf for short term storage and unpacking / de-consolidation.

The premises can be used for the following purposes:

♦ Holding of imported FCL and LCL goods subject to the control of Customs

♦ Unpacking of imported goods subject to the control of Customs

♦ Holding of goods for export subject to the control of Customs

♦ Packing of goods for export subject to the control of Customs

With the successful application and license being issued it provides SeaRoad as a company with the opportunity and the ability to offer a complete service to importers / exporters.
